Midd Gigs has moved!
Thanks to your overwhelming interest, we've introduced a brand new module to support Midd Gigs.
For access, click the "Midd Gigs" tab on the blue navigation bar at the top of your screen. Alumni and Parents can access Midd Gigs guidelines and instructions here.
Our new launch of Midd Gigs offers a suite of improved features:
- A dedicated, searchable job board.
- Easy-to-use application management tools for Gig sponsors.
- Project management tools for gig sponsors and hires.
- A more accessible and intuitive interface.
Midd Gigs enables Middlebury alumni and parents to post projects and Middlebury students + newly-minted graduates to apply to them. We invite our alumni and parent community to post short term, professional projects associated with their organization or endeavor. These projects enable alumni and parents access to Middlebury's talented students and recent grads. In turn, our students get the opportunity to develop as professionals, explore career paths, and build their network.
FAQs
When can I post (or apply to) a Midd Gig?
Midd Gigs aren't just for summer! We welcome interested parties to post--and apply for--Midd Gigs throughout the year.
Are Midd Gigs paid or unpaid?
You'll see postings for paid and unpaid gigs. If there is a payment associated with the gig, it is set by and provided by the alumni sponsor--not Middlebury College. With apologies, the College is unable to provide funding for unpaid gigs.
How many gigs can alumni post...or students apply to?
There are no limits on either the number of positions Gig sponsors can post, or the number of positions a student can apply to or accept.
What should the outcomes be?
For alumni and parents, Midd Gigs offer the chance to engage Middlebury's talented students on a professional project. Ideally, projects should be structured in ways that provide learning opportunities to the student you bring on. Along the way, we hope you'll be willing to provide some coaching and perspective to the students you work with.
For students, Midd Gigs are learning opportunities that give you exposure to career paths and representative projects you might encounter en route. It's also a great way to expand your network, demonstrate what you're capable of, and grow your resume--benefits that can lead to future opportunities.
What if I'm hiring for a full time job or internship?
We love it when organizations hire Midd! We encourage alumni and Middlebury parents to set up free employer accounts on Handshake, Middlebury's dedicated job board for students and young alumni. Your employer account will allow you to post positions, manage interview schedules, and more. Get started here.
Who do I contact for help?
